The Skills, E-learning and Telemedicine (SET) Facility at AIIMS New Delhi is a state-of-the-art centre dedicated on enhancing clinical competence through technology-enabled learning. Established to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and clinical practice, the Facility provides a structured environment where healthcare professionals can develop and refine essential clinical skills before engaging in real-world patient care.
The SET Facility supports undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, nursing students, and other healthcare professionals through hands-on training, simulation-based learning, and digital education initiatives. By fostering active participation from faculty across clinical and non-clinical disciplines, these experts promote excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment.
Our mission is to enhance clinical competence, strengthen procedural skills, and build confidence among learners through innovative educational practices and a safe, learner-centered environment.
Skill Lab
The Skill Lab is equipped with advanced simulation models and virtual reality (VR) training stations designed to impart a wide range of basic and advanced clinical skills. Using structured, in-house developed training modules, learners can repeatedly practice procedures in a controlled environment, promoting confidence, competence, and patient safety.
Wet Lab
The Wet Lab serves as a dedicated facility for cadaveric training and specialty-specific surgical skill development. The lab is equipped with robotic surgery systems, laparoscopic endo-trainers, and other advanced surgical training equipment. It hosts workshops and hands-on training programmes across various surgical disciplines, providing realistic learning experiences that enhance technical proficiency and procedural expertise.
Airway and Ultrasound Lab
The Airway and Ultrasound Lab is a dedicated simulation-based training facility designed to enhance competency in airway management, resuscitation, critical care, and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS). Equipped with advanced airway simulators, high-fidelity mannequins, and modern ultrasound systems, the lab provides hands-on experience in ultrasound-guided procedures, vascular access, focused assessment, airway evaluation, and emergency care.
Digital Learning and Tele-Education
The SET Facility plays a pivotal role in developing e-learning resources and delivering technology-enabled education. The Facility houses three modern studios equipped to support tele-education and digital content creation, with the capability to connect with more than 50 medical institutions across India. These studios facilitate live teaching sessions, webinars, faculty development programmes, and the creation of high-quality educational content.
